another neg review 4 blu

Post  erimus2179 on Sat Feb 06, 2010 3:48 pm

I got my Blu starter kit a week after Christmas 09. Everything in the starter pack worked fine for about 2 1/2 weeks. Then the atomizers needed replacing (or at least the replacement atomizers I ordered from them worked better). When I ordered the new atomizers, I also ordered 10 packs. Nine of which I haven't even bothered to open for a month now because: 1) my epack no longer charges the batteries 2) I was running through carts in 6 hits... giving me a terribly nasty burnt cotton taste.

As many people have said on other reviews the carts/ battery life is hit or miss. Unfortunately, all 3 of the orders of different products that I've placed have been miss. I'm moving on to a different manufacturer, but I'm hesitant to do so. I've got a friend that said his Luci works well and is compatible with the Blu carts. As well, I've noticed that Volcano has the same product.

I enjoyed my ecigs when they were working, and I wasn't smoking analog cigs at all. I'm trying to quit, just haven't found a product that works well enough to keep me away from analogs. Anyone have any suggestions?

I wish there was a way...

To warn off Blu buyers b4 they buy. We seem to have constant post concerning the same issues with Blu time after time.
I reccomend that you consider a Joye 510, possibly a Revolver Gemini, or if you have the bucks you can spend, even a Tornado.
You need something that packs enough punch to keep you off analogs. Then later you can consider something smaller.
My Yeti 510 got me off tobacco and my Revolver Elite (even though the Revolver auto bats seem to hate me lol) keeps me off analogs.

Volcano is a way more pleasant and easy to deal with company...

But I agree with using a 510. You need something that makes constant good vapor and the Revolver Gemini does that for me.

I have to admit, my Yeti 510 was absolutely key in my giving up analogs, for good Wink
I haven't had a single puff since my first hit off a 510...

I think I am the only person around who prefers the blu to the 510!? The 510 gets too hot and kills the flavor of the juice and the atties burn my fingers. Once I tossed it in my pocket and burnt my nipple!

It is true there is no "best e-cig" because everyone is different - only a "best for me"

A Dragon is a nice step up from a Blu, in my opinion. Wink
Much better vapor production, stronger throat hit, better draining carts....
This is just my opinion... Rolling Eyes Laughing

as was my original post. we wouldn't be very much of a vaping community if we didn't pay attention to each others opinions. i'm just a little more novice at it than ya'll are.

yeah, I like the 401 models. They are pretty solid. Battery is alot longer lasting then a Blu for sure. I also like the flavor that the atty's produce. Always make for some good tasting Vaping. I personally do not get a very good throat hit but that may just be me. Vapor is good though. Providing you have some good juice. 401's are pretty good.

I seem to have figured out that the burnt cotton taste or harshness the original poster referred to is due to poorly mixed cartridges. I recently got my blu and it seems a lot of the cartridges are missing flavor and they may be mixed mostly with the PG fluid but with hardly any flavoring. Some cartridges are completely fine and they are all from the same carton!! There is no consistency at all, its complete hit or miss.

With that said I've decided to mod my blu and went ahead and purchased refill liquid and will be doing it myself. What I'm doing is emptying out my cartridges when finished, taking out the filter, cleaning out the inner small cartridges then placing fluval in them, then will drop in the refill liquid I purchased.

I will definitely not be buying any refill cartridges from the blu website. Anyone experiencing this issue is better off moding your cartridges or buying a completely different product.

Refilled my blu

Post  stabcat on Thu Feb 11, 2010 9:11 pm

So this is an update to my last post. I got my liquid in the mail and refilled my blu carts with fluval and the liquid. What a HUGE difference! I get a lot more vapor, I have great tasting vape now, and most importantly no harshness.

Now all blu needs to do is offer blank carts with a cap. If anyone has a suggestion for blank carts and caps that will fit a blu please post them!

Volcano just got exactly what you (and I) are wanting. I have been searching for the perfect cap for ages. Blank caps come in either black, red, or white. $2.99 for a five pack - $1.99 if you buy in bulk. I am throwing out all of my blu carts and will buy about 100 of these when I get paid Friday.

To be honest, I've ordered a set of 401 carts for my Blu, because their carts frustrate me to no end - on the subject of filling your own, I agree whole heartedly. I still have a whole carton of Blu carts I refuse to smoke because of the inconsistency. I'll fill my own from now on, thanks.. and I'll save money doing it.

If I find one flaw with the Blu, it's in the factory mixed carts. Without pulling punches - they suck. Point blank, period.
