just got my blu, ? about battery life

Post  thunderoad02 on Wed Feb 17, 2010 7:31 am

Ive posted a few times at e-cig-forum, but as it is well known here, theres not a whole lot of love for the blu over there. I did my share of research and finally decided on the blu. Got it today and i love it. Im getting great vapor, a good throat hit, and am overall very pleased with it. Im not a heavy smoker to begin with, Im a clove smoker and only smoked one about once a day, sometimes more at the bar. So Im just looking for a replacement.
Ive been smoking it off and on for about 5 hours and am still on my first cart. However my battery has died (blinks about 30 times when i puff on it). So I switched to my second one. Is this about average time for the battery to die? Now that I think about it 5 hours seems pretty good, but the booklet that came with it says it should last about 2 carts. Now im sure thats exaggerated, but just wanted to make sure that this correlates with other peoples use.

That;s the problem with the blu- short lived batts. I guess that goes with them being so small. I just collected a bunch of batts and keep them in a shot glass on my coffee table. When you are on the go - the case is great. In the pack, I keep one chraged, and one in the process of charging, and I wear one in a lanyard around my neck. The new carts do last a good long time. I thought something was strange that my carts lasted longer than my batts. Glad to see I am not the only one LOL

As for clove juice, I have tried several. The best is a clove/ honey mix from DIYFlavorShack. Here's a review I did on it. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/diy-flavorshack/68234-wow-wow-wow-clove-rocks.html

I know everyone complains about battery life, I just wanted to make sure that mine seemed like they were average life since blu says 2 carts worth of life. If they last as long as they did, Im not gonna complain, especially with the pack. Like I said Im very pleased with it, surprisingly so after all negative talk about it.

I did see your post on E-cig forum on the clove, and I went ahead and ordered myself a bottle of it yesterday. Im a Djarum Splash smoker, and I love my cloves. Ive tried rolling my own but they just dont taste the same.So Im hoping that this clove flavor gives me something close to what I miss. Even if it doesnt, Im already happy with my PV, and all the flavors will keep me distracted anyway.

Im just glad you guys, and these forums are around. I was clueless on the subject and after making my way around the forums, I feel like Im an expert.

Welcome to the forum thunderoad02 Smile

Battery life on an ecig is completely subjective: hit it once or twice and sit it down for 15 minutes or so and repeat, even a Blu will last for hours and hours before needing a recharge. Use it like a pacifier and you'll drain that sucker in about 15-20 minutes Wink

Most of the negative talk about Blu is by people who were heavier smokers than you were. Hitting it harder and more often won't allow the juice to wick into the atomizer quickly enough to satisfy them, but it sounds like you have the ideal product for YOUR needs Cool

thanks for the welcome.

That was my thinking exactly, I figured it wasn't making the heavy smokers happy, but I wanted something small and portable. I am looking forward to trying a bigger model though
