coughing more?
Hi there everyone. I'm newly registered to the forum, but I've been reading for a while. I started vaping at the beginning of the year and find myself wheezing and coughing a lot more now that I ever did with analogs. Is anyone else having this problem? Its not the throat hits or anything, it's deep in my lungs. I thought it might just be my lungs kinda detoxing themselves after years of habitual smoke inhalation, but it seems to be getting worse.
Thanks,
Nick

It sounds to me like you should go visit a competent doctor and get your lungs checked out.
I've been vaping approximately 8 months and my breathing is WAY better than when I smoked.

Re: coughing more?
I've experienced this as well. I think certain liquids irritate (I prefer to use the word 'tickle') your lungs a bit, causing you to cough. Usually only happens to me during and a few minutes after I vape. Definitely nothing serious, just feels like a feather is tickling my lungs, to which my body responds by coughing. Also, I had quite a bit of trouble when I re-lapsed to analogs - something about the combination of the two made my lungs feel terrible. That cleared up shorty after smoking the analog. I'm thinking it could be the same for you. Your body could be clearing out all that excess tar from your lungs. If it were me, I'd give it about a week. If the coughing persists, see a doctor. Be advised that doctors are pretty ignorant to the side effects of vaping, so they might just look at you funny when you tell them it may be caused by e-cigs.

Oh, you WILL cough more as your lungs start to become more alive than they've been in years from clogging them with tar and all the other TRULY harmful shit that is in analogs. Anyone that's ever stopped smoking knows this is going to happen. It's going to take a few weeks, perhaps longer for your lungs to clear themselves, depending on how long you smoked, how much, and even what brand you chose. I noticed a HUGE difference in the 'lung cookies' after switching to American Spirit Perique.... after about a week, I had a lot less of them (typically a first thing after waking up thing). I've been smoking 26 years, cigs and, well, you know. I still can't believe the difference in my taste and breathing even after a few days of using the eCigs..... it's amazing (and for the better). Give it some time and see how things work out for you.
If nothing improves, definately go see one of the over-educated idiots and see what their opinion is. I only call them over-ed' idiots cause I actually had one tell me that ganj causes seizures during a trip to the ER one night after my second episode in as many months! That was after telling him I'd JUST quit taking Xanax 2, maybe 3 days before (yes by script). In 20+ years, I've NEVER heard of such, and believe me, I've done the "research". My mistake was stopping the xany's suddenly without tapering off. After about 5 mins www research, I found out seizures are one of the first things that'll happen upon rapid cessation of ANY benzo. Did he mention that? Hell no, just got on my ass in front of my wife about the ganj. Still thinking of suing his ignorant Doogie Howser ass for breaking doctor/patient confidentiality. At any rate, good luck with the lungs mahn!
