Sort of on topic, atleast with the Tornado... one of the batteries just shorted out. I am highly unhappy. It burned up the atty TW JUST replaced (had a bad one in the kit). Sad Damnit.

That's the first thing I thought, why she didn't just bring it over. But.. she's way older than me, so I'm not allowed to be mad at her.

But, all is well with it right now. I'm getting some hit or miss action. And liquid everywhere. I'm thinking of getting one of those stainless Super-T tips for it for dripping (or figure out a way to make this cart direct drip). I'm having a hard time convincing myself to get a $20 piece of metal. I might wait for the Chinese to start making them Razz

EDIT: Has anyone found a good hip case for this? I'm thinking of something like a maglite holster with a hole punched in the flap for the cart to stick through... scratch

I didn't even notice it until I went to screw the cone down and smelled something burning. The atty was like fire, had a hard time getting it unscrewed so it didn't.. I dunno explode? I don't know what happens.

Hub put it on the multimeter (the battery) and said he was only getting 1/4 volt. And, the battery is *toast*. So very unhappy right now. I am... mad. Sad

Mag-lite holster! Shocked Great idea! I was thinking of moding a hard shell glasses case so I could carry the spare batt and some carts but, hip holster is a great idea. Very Happy

Here's another one I've been using for a while. I got this pill-thing from Rite-Aid, and the 3ml(?) bottle I got from Johnson Creek fits perfect inside of it. My keys are always on my belt loop via a D-ring. This keychain has been with me since I started vaping. And the keychain is waterproof, keeps stuff out or in.

NICE! My GF works at a CVS and I have been eyeing those up thinking, "I know I could find a good use for that and should get one but, I just can't think of what I could use it for." And there you go! Very Happy Now I have a reason to get it! Very Happy

Tornado time...

Post  HoboSSD on Sat Mar 13, 2010 4:08 pm

Got my Tornado today. First off, BIG props to Totally Wicked for excellent service. Ordered this pv on Wednesday evening and received it today.
Excellent!
Put one unit together and started charging the other battery. This unit is very attractive and feels very good in my hand. Like going from a regular cig to a cigar. Heavier, but not too heavy.
Using the 16mg carts that came with the unit, my first couple of vapes seemed a little lacking. But just a few vapes later it really takes off and I think I've seen that this battery has a cutoff, but I don't want to take it there. Man, about 3 to 4 seconds and I am good. I even have a little buzz from this badboy.
I swapped out the regular atty and cart for my Gemini atty and cart and that also works like a charm. I haven't been able to try a "Revolver heavy hitter" yet but that might loosen up your head from your neck lol.
The battery I put on charge went green after about an hour so the bats are almost fully charged from the start.
I'll know more about battery life for the way I vape on Monday when I'm back to work, however to be sure I'll take my PCC and Gemini with me as a backup (just in case).
I use a Gerber pouch which took one of those side tools ( that broke on me). I had three pieces of 1/2 inch cpvc pipe to protect my batterys. This pouch is the exact right size for the Tornado. I'll just need to step the PVC to a 3/4 inch. This will carry my tornado and a 3ml bottle of juice which should easily carry everything I need for the whole day right on my hip. And there's no need to cut any hole in it, it's just the right size.
So, it's a very attractive unit, great vapor and TH, battery life should be outstanding. Durability needs time to tell but hopefully it will be as durable as it looks.
Great PV!
When my money tree blooms a little more, I'll have to get the mega atty and carts for it.
Sorry for the book here but:

I got a really good nic buzz going on!

cheers cheers

Good writeup. So wallet was still open Laughing
Hope its a trooper for you like mine continues to be. I have a HH atty and did test it but the stock one just works so well I havent needed to mess around any. TW instructions say to swap atty's each day so been doing that.

Yeah....

Post  HoboSSD on Sat Mar 13, 2010 7:10 pm

Who really needs all that electricity? I'm so impressed that I'm going to give my 510 to my son. See if I can get him off tobacco. And the TW attys really produce great vapor. I made a quick change to my pouch and the Tornado fits in it perfectly. Now I've got room for my T, my Gemini and a 3ml bottle of liquid.
I wouldn't call anything I've bought a waste, but if this had been my first, I would only have one.

Oh did I mention that I've got a really nice nic buzz going? Shocked

Hobo, I had the same exact idea about the PVC today at work. I've got an old Gerber case (the Gerber broke, buy Leatherman) that I might try. I might do it, but I was just wanting something small enough to hold 1 eGo and nothing else (hence flashlight holster).
