Introducing myself... sorry, a little long winded.

Post  RainsTribe on Fri Feb 26, 2010 10:10 am

Hello all, It was nice to find you here on the web. I am hoping to make some new friends as I get more info about the e-cigarettes, the products, accessories and of course, reccommendations on the different brands/types and styles out there. I've been lurking your boards for a bit, reading up on different things like reviews and products that people like and/or dislike and I thank you all for putting all your honest opinions out there for all of us to read about, to make better decisions on what we want, in an e-ciggy.
Ok, let me introduce myself before I forget and just keep rambling on... (sorry, new at this and nervous)
My name is Rain. I am an on again, off again smoker. I started smoking in my teens years, well, around 18. I have alot of children and would quit while pregnant but usually start up again a year or so after baby was born. I have been smoking now for almost 2 yrs, what triggered this last smoking stint was stress - my usual trigger - when My Husband re-enlisted into the Army and had to leave for some trainings and then came home to tell us we had 5 days to move across the US to report to our new, first Duty station with the Army. (Can you think of anything more fun than a 15 passenger van loaded with kids, a dog and crap bursting from the windows and seems, while miserably pregnant with a few weeks to go, driving across the country leaving from snow and ice to melting heat when you get to Hell Paso, Texas?) So I lit up!
(I know, Bad Mom, but it was honestly all I could do to cope and didn't do very much of it)
Well, now, I've wanted to quit, the cigarettes taste so nasty to me since I just had surgery at the end of January. We found that I had colon/rectal cancer and I had to have all that removed. So after I left the hospital, the ciggy's tasted horrible and I decided to try again with the e-cigs I had bought at the mall. Sad
I hadn't been using them because it seemed as though the cartridges were very poor as far as quality, didn't last long at all and it was like I had to suck suck suck for almost nothing worth of vapor or taste. I had tried to return them the next day after my very expensive purchase and they said they have a no return policy. Of course ya do, why would you want to take your own crappy product back?! I get it!
So, now I am looking for something that is more consistent with a cigarette, the feel the taste, the smoke, the everything a cigarette does for me, without the chemicals, prices of smokes, smell in my house, on my hair and clothes and holes in my comforters when the hubby doesn't seem to know how to operate an ashtray while watching a movie or playing video games. scratch

So, That's me and why I am here, I've been looking around the net to find my perfect device. I've read a bit about the Joye 510 and it's claims on being the most widely sold and best known for it's quality and performance, so I'd like to know what you all here, being much better experienced at this than I am, think about that model or similar ones that I should look into.
If you made it this far, Thanks so much, and no, all my posts won't always be a novel, just wanted to give you a lil idea on me, where I stood and what I am looking for. I do appreciate your patience and understanding though and hope to hear from you all soon!

Welcome to the forum Rain Smile

I can wholeheartedly recommend a 510 to get you off cigarettes. Worked for me, right around 9 months without a puff off an analog, and I smoked a LONG time beforehand Wink

I vape a lot of different models but have to say it was the 510 that got me over the analog hump Laughing

Welcome to the forum, Rain cheers

I would definitely have to agree with Nikko on this one and say your best bet is the 510, or a DSE 901. It too was the 510 that got me over analogs.

510/ gemini did it for me. My first was a volcano and with me being a heavy smoker it just wasnt up to par for me.

Ok, I guess I'm gonna start sounding

like I am really zonked about the Gemini, but dammit I am. I own a Joye model 510, a Revolver Elite, and just got the Gemini. In my opinion the Gemini atty is light years ahead of Joyes, but the two are very interchangeble. So if you order a Joye, also order a couple of Gemini attys and some carts. You can use Joye batteries with the Gemini atty but you can't use Joye carts.
I have also had zero leakage problems with the Gemini (even using a Joye battery) and the Joye is a well known leaker.
I quit smoking using the Joye but I'm sure that a Gemini will pound that habit out of you just as well with a few less problems.

I have to agree with all the other posts on this page, I started with a BLU starter kit and just recently got the Revolver Gemini which for me is perfect and keeps me away from analogs, so I would have to agree with HoboSSD that the Joye 510 and Gemini which are very close would be your best bet, I would choose the Gemini of course. Very Happy

i dont know how appropriate this response is... but i have used a blu AND a Gemini. I honestly thought the blu was ok.... but when i got my Elite it was no contest. I have used the Gemini, and JOYE510. I like Gemini better. but overall im an Elite guy. the guys around here use the Gemini, and every now and then you see a Gemini with a Joye battery. this because they use it so much and have like 12 joye batteries, they rotate so they dont kill the gemini batts so fast. they puff VERY frequently lol.

I've been testing the volcano magma for a few days now. It by far has one of the best 510 atty's that I've used. It doesn't get hot like other 510 atty's do and it puts out fantastic vapor production and a great throat hit. To be honest.....I was just expecting another 510 like the other 50 or so vendors that sell 510's but was very surprised when I received it. The atty has one of the tallest bridges I've ever seen on an atty. The pcc is also very nice....very sturdy and well made. Then of course....the ultimate 510 is the tornado/ego. 10 hours of use out of a single battery charge....greatest 510 I've ever owned and use daily.

we could have had the meter on our pcc like volcano has on the magma, but the pcc does not charge manual batteries, which is one of the biggest features of a 510. we thought that was gay so we turned it down and opted for our custom made pcc. we also opted to add a heavy hitter atty.

GEMINI PWN ALL!!!!

lol jk

And for me also the most flavor. It's like it vaporizes all the flavor just right. I don't care who sells it, the JSB-510 atty fuckin rawks.

But do tell more about the PCC. How do you initiate the charging? I've read somewhere that you can get 5-6 charges from it, true?

510's

Post  CamelKing on Sat Mar 06, 2010 1:03 am

Hey guys! I've been reading through this post and I'm a little confused about something (I am WAY NEW to all this stuff!).
It seems that several companies produce a 510? Is that correct? What is the 510? Is that the atty?
Thanks for your help!
